About

Hi, I’m Hannah and I make stained glass from my home studio in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
Much of my work is inspired by nature, brought to life with a contemporary style. I create a range of pieces - from mushroom, frog and snail plant stakes, to hanging ornaments like lemons, whales and mountain landscapes. I also make larger work like moon phases, monstera leaves and standing pieces.
My process begins with designing a pattern and choosing the glass - arguably one of the most important parts of the process. From there, each piece of glass is carefully cut out, the edges are ground smooth, and then wrapped in copper foil tape (this is what the solder adheres to). Finally, the pieces are soldered together, then thoroughly cleaned and polished. Every stage requires a different set of skills, which makes stained glass such an interesting and rewarding art form.
I've always been fascinated by stained glass and the beautiful colours, textures and refractions within it. Working with this medium allows me to express my creativity in a way that feels limitless.
